8.8cm S-5 Recoiless Field Gun

Doubling as both an artillery piece and anti-tank weapon, the S-5
serves as the main field gun of the StormElite. The S-5 has been
in service since the Battle of Yavin, and has given artillery
divisions a weapon that is superior in both quality and firepower
than most enemy artillery pieces.

Legion General Alwen Kowell pioneered the use of the 8.8cm field
gun an anti-tank weapon during the desert war in the Scornian Desert
of Drakos. He and his Desert Corps gained 45% of their tank kills
in the desert with the S-5, giving it a good starting reputation.

In the opening score of the Commonwealth Sector War, the 2nd SE
Repulsor Division "The Empire" used the S-5 as a means of reducing
heavily built-up enemy postion in urbanized areas so that the
divison's repulsortanks could get through with minimal losses.
This tactic worked until the Commonwealth Army was able to use
the remaining city's rubble as a defensive advantage.
