R-DUO (Karres Astromech Droid) | Jaska (Falleen Jedi/Mandalorian Knight) | Serroco | WESTAR-M5 blaster rifle |

What is it ? : The Young Jedi are training on Tenoo, when Kai receives a communication from Taborr Val Dorrn / Cyrus Vuundir that he has been trapped by Rek Minuu when trying to retrieve some farming droids that Rek had stolen. He asks for the Jedi's help, but Kai isn't sure if he can trust him, but Lys tells him that helping is what Jedi do, so they agree.
They travel to a world where Rek's ship is landed, and sneak inside, finding Taborr, and free him. They agree to work together and head for Rek's work area to retrieve the droids, but Rek discovers them. He calls out that Taborr is a pirate so no-one should trust him and leaves his droids to deal with them, the droids overpower the Young Jedi and trap them inside an energy net, leaving Taborr with the choice of helping them or trying to retrieve the droids himself.
He leaves the Young Jedi despite Kai calling on him to help, but Rek opens a trap door which drops Taborr into an escape pod and launches him into space.
Taborr realises that he let his friends down, and rewires the pod to take him back to Rek's ship.
Rek taunts the Young Jedi that they should never have trusted Taborr as he always wanted to be a pirate so would always think of himself first, but gets called away because a droid is malfunctioning leaving only a single droid to guard the Young Jedi. That droid sparks as Taborr rappels down from the ceiling and frees the Young Jedi, but Rek realises what has happened and returns, as a fight breaks out, he confronts Taborr, and offers a deal that if Taborr helps him, he will provide droids to help Taborr become the most feared pirate in the sector.
After a moments consideration, Taborr tells him that he once wanted that, but now only wants to help his friends to return the faith in him that they had. He disarms Rek, and forces him to deactivate all his droids.
Later on Vuundalla, the Young Jedi are celebrating with the people as the droids have been returned, and Taborr/Cyrus tells Kai that he has good friends, and putting a hand on Taborrs shoulder, Kai responds that yes he does. . . .
High Points : So this is the redemption episode for Taborr, he's been on the path for a while, but this finally sees him become an ally to the Young Jedi with trust built on both sides. Taborrs moment comes in the escape pod where he sees where his selfish impulses have led him, if only he'd thought of others he wouldn't have ended up trapped. This feels earned, he has screwed up, and very obviously is suffering from his poor choices, but learns and grows from it.
I also really like the way Rek moves around, clambering on top of his droids, and climbing cables to the rooms ceilings and platforms, it's just a bit different to other characters and shows him to be different to other opponents we've seen the Young Jedi face off against.
Low Points : I suppose Rek's ship is landed in a remote place, but this is the third time the Young Jedi have just walked onto the vessel without being stopped or even detected, you'd think he'd set up some cameras or other security, especially when he's so into droids and automation.
I also found it weird that the Young Jedi who have overpowered Rek's security droids a couple of times now, this time are beaten by them. I suppose he could have upgraded them, but it's not mentioned.
So what do you really think ? : A nice little story, completing Taborr's redemption, it'll be interesting to see if they use him again in the future, or whether they just ignore his character now that his redemption arc is completed.
Final Words : And the message of this episode, everyone can be redeemed, or trust your friends.
