Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: Mission to the Central Manse

What is it ? : Setting off across Koboh once again, on the way Cal is attacked by a bounty hunter from the Haxion Brood, Korej Lim. Defeating him, Cal meets retired bounty hunter Caij Vanda, who offers him rewards for taking down members of the Haxion Brood.
Also along the way, Cal finds an upgrade for BD-1, a matter grinder, this is a kind of squirt gun which can remove areas of Koboh Matter which block the way.
At his destination he faces off against another Lightsaber weilding Bedlam Raider, Tague Louesh, and defeating him Cal finds a compass whose job was to guide people to Tanalor, however it is broken. Cal's Psychometry allows him to see that two Jedi destroyed it to stop Dagan Gera gaining it, and then he killed them. Cal decided to return this item to Eno Cordova on Jedha to see if it can be repaired.

High Points : There's a large area in this level where Cal must glide hanging from bats, using volcanic vents to ride the bats higher and higher, which is fun. The destination is also very pretty, and the valley you have to travel along has a number of side caves and rewards exploration.

Low Points : The Matter grinder I found annoying, as you have to follow the pattern to destroy the Koboh matter back to it's source or it regrows. With infinite amount of matter to squirt, this is just repetitive until you complete it.
Also, we come up against another Lightsaber weilding Bedlam Raider, lightsabers are supposed to be rare in the Imperial Era, but 2 levels in a row we've faced against ordinary people using them.

So what do you really think ? : Suffering from a problem that Jedi Survivor has throughout it's entirety, this level feels long, without enough variety to keep up interest. We get a couple of new tricks to use, but then we keep using them for ages as we glide along the valley until we eventually reach our destination.

Final Words : By this point, while the storyline kept me going, Jedi Survivors levels were beginning to feel a bit of a chore. While it did use some of Cal's older abilities such as Wall Running, it doesn't really combine these with the new abilities. So the level is very much a one trick pony, relying on the new stuff Cal learns to do, without him feeling more capable due to the many different things he can now do. Fallen Order really worked as it introduced new tricks and used them alongside everything you'd learnt before, making Cal feel more skilled as he went from wall running, to grabbing cables with the force, and back again, feeling like an amazing force powered type of parkour. Jedi Survivor has you hanging from bats and firing energy beams, feeling like a knock off Lara Croft.

Score : 8/10
