Description: The barbed hookfish was a species of fish endemic to the Outer Rim planet Koboh. The species evolved out of necessity into a brutal predator. Unlike other fish in its taxonomy who fed on krill and water-based nutrients, the barbed hookfish developed a hard exoskeleton and hooked fins ideal for attacking other fish and even birds.

Skoova Stev, a fisherman who resided on Koboh, caught a barbed hookfish in the smuggler's tunnels beneath Rambler's Reach Outpost in 9 BBY and put it in Pyloon's Saloon.
