Description: Moonbender Colony, also known simply as Moonbender, was a colony located on a moon in the Outer Rim during the Republic Era. The colony was run by the Remainders, a group of former bounty hunters. By sometime between around 40 BBY and 32 BBY, the colony's population had dwindled to around one hundred—miners and vapor farmers, as well as their families. During that time, the Sith apprentice Darth Maul was sent to Moonbender to fight the Remainders as a test of his abilities by his master, Darth Sidious. Although Maul defeated the Remainders, at least one resident survived.

Moonbender Colony tower
A tower was situated in Moonbender Colony on a remote moon. Built by the first of the Remainders—former bounty hunters who managed the colony—who arrived at Moonbender, the tower was constructed to be the colony's administrative center and a defensible fortress. The tower included the colony's medcenter, as well as "the Tunnel," the magnetically sealed entryway that was designed as a trap for invaders.

Moonbender Colony medcenter
A medcenter was located within a tower in Moonbender Colony. Doctor Korvik, a member of the Remainders—former bounty hunters who managed the colony—ran the medcenter, assisted by the medical droid Bennie. During the Sith apprentice Darth Maul's attack on Moonbender Colony, the medcenter was final location that he breached. Although Maul killed Korvik in the medcenter, a Twi'lek patient who had been hiding in a vent survived the attack.

The Tunnel
"The Tunnel" served as the defensible entrance to Moonbender Colony. Located within a tower, its walls were magnetically sealed so that the Remainders—former bounty hunters who managed and defended the colony—could angle their blaster fire and make it impossible to block. When the Sith apprentice Darth Maul attacked the colony, he entered the tower through the Tunnel. Despite the attempts of General Zandloss and several other defenders, Maul was able to make it through the blast tunnel and breach the rest of the colony.
