*: The Lightsaber Rifle is powered by a Lightsaber that is chambered within the weapon, allowing it to fire repeatedly. However, every time it is fired, if the Wild Die rolls a 1, then the Lightsaber is destroyed as too much energy is drained from it and it melts.
Game Notes: The Lightsaber Rifle is powered by a Jedi's Lightsaber, allowing them to use Lightsaber Combat to increase it's accuracy or it's damage, not both. So when fired Lightsaber Combat works as if they were wielding their Lightsaber, but on each shot the user decides whether they gain the bonus of adding their Sense Dice to their lightsaber skill roll when attacking or they may add or subtract part or all of their control dice to the lightsaber rifles damage
Description: The lightsaber rifle was a type of rifle designed to work in conjunction with a standard lightsaber. During the first year of the Galactic Empire's reign, Jocasta Nu wielded the Archives' rifle in conjunction with her lightsaber when she confronted Darth Vader in 19 BBY when she returned to the Jedi Temple after its fall during the Great Jedi Purge. However, the weapon ran out of ammunition, and despite her attempt to use it as an explosive with telekinesis, Vader's own telekinetic power redirected it, detonating a large portion of the Jedi Temple wall instead.
Years later, Ben Solo, Lor San Tekka and Luke Skywalker found a rifle of this type in a Jedi outpost on Elphrona.
Description
Once a lightsaber was properly loaded into an open slot on top of the rifle, a lightsaber rifle could produce an overwhelmingly powerful and destructive beam of energy. One such rifle was kept secure in the Jedi Archives. The weapon could fire at least five shots before the lightsaber being used as fuel melted beyond usage, at which point the empty rifle began to smoke. It could also be activated to self-destruct with enough force to break open a large hole in the Jedi Temple wall.
